Congratulations to the South Australian artists and arts organisations who have secured funding in the latest round of the Arts and Culture Grants Program.
Recipients of the October 2024 round will share in almost $1.6 million, with funding supporting activities that are expected to employ more than 1400 artists and arts workers.
Fifty-six grants have been recommended for activity spanning the art form areas of literature, performing arts, and visual art, craft and design.
Funded activity includes triennial support for theatre maker Ellen Steele to develop the production See You At the Dance, a scripted immersive theatre work centred around a community dance, with a team of established South Australian artists.
Funding will also support professional development and capacity building projects. Iwiri Aboriginal Corporation has been funded to deliver a series of workshops for studio artists to explore contemporary practice in Illustration, graphic design, and digital art.
South Australia’s arts, culture and creativity will be on show locally, nationally, and internationally, with funded activities taking place in metropolitan and regional South Australia through to Queensland, New Zealand and Scotland.
Grant applications were assessed against published criteria by sector representatives with specialist art form, arts practice, arts management, and cultural expertise.
Information about each grant category and recipients is available in the list below.
The February 2025 round of the Arts and Culture Grants Program will open on Wednesday 18 December 2024.
